Steve's Plum

As many readers know the orchard is full of trees honoring friends and family.  Some have been producing very well while others are up for reassignment to outside the orchard fence because of zero productivity.  Stevan Morrow's Santa Rosa Plum was threatened this spring for transfer to the orchard space outside the fence if there was no productivity.
Lo and Behold
A plum is borne...
And I do mean "A Plum" as in one plum on the entire tree!
Here is a photo of the great harvest of one!
This longer shot shows Steve's Plum in the upper right and in the distance is Olga Morrow's prolific Liberty Apple. Our Mom always led by example, and she continues to do so! Her tree has been setting the standard for productivity and yummyness since year one and every year since.
Still we have to say, the one Santa Rosa Plum was very delicious and a reprieve was earned so we hope for even more next year!
