Garlic Season

Sylvia has outdone herself yet again in the garden.
This years crop of garlic is larger, tastier, hotter and more plentiful than ever before!
She is developing some Upper Creek Monastery garlic that has come from several years of effort and they are wonderful!

One of the tricks to growing great garlic is removing the bubils early so that the energy of the plant goes into the bulb production.  Good news is that the bubils are a gourmet item that we so very much love to partake in!

The joys of gardening include the great workouts you get bringing home bags of garlic!

After harvest the garlic is trimmed and tied together to air dry on the porch.  This curing is essential if you expect your harvest to last through the winter season.
