Introducing Duke Cooper

As General Lee slows down as a result of his cancer we decided to get another dog so that he could apprentice under General Lee and of course Queen Coda as well.  That search led to "Cooper" a rescue dog obtained from the American Beauceron Club.  He is a two year old fixed male purebred Beauceron.
Cooper was pulled from a kennel in Ohio where the owner ended up in the hospital and could no longer care for the dogs. (his level of care is under some question as well.)  So arrangements were made to pick him up and the underground rescue dog railroad began to operate to move Cooper West while Bob began driving East.  The shot below is from a rest stop on the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah.
An organization called C.A.R.E. (Colorado Animal Rescue Express) took Cooper as far West as possible to the rendezvous point in a Petco parking lot in Denver, Colorado.  Below is the first look at Cooper in his crate along with 50 other dogs that came from Kansas City that day.  Most were on the last day of a death list of kill shelters.  Most were going to Foster Homes in the Denver area.
It was a two days rush of driving back to UCM as General Lee was not doing well. Still it was excellent bonding time for Bob and Cooper.  Soon after the trip the cleaning out the car was on and despite being car sick Cooper hopped in back with a clear look of where ever you are going in this car Bob - I am coming with you.
He is quickly settling in and the balance between dogs is getting worked out. Lee and Coda were showing Cooper around the maze of garden beds in this video.  Lee likes to follow Sylvia around in the hopes of scoring carrots and such.  Coda is always busily looking for work.  Cooper is still trying to get use to walking in a straight line for longer than a kennel length.
Cooper's formal name evolved from his being of a smaller size for a male Beauceron and since he was joining a pack with a Queen and General he also required a title. Coop being short for Cooper and his being "little" for his breed  - he somehow balanced with the Beach Boys Standard - "Little Deuce Coupe" which matured into our little Duke Coop (er) :-)
